Housing Availability in Looe
With very few properties available for long-term rent in Looe, with the majority of those available costing over £1000 a month, the housing situation for local people is dire. With the ‘living wage’ at £11.44 per hour and a single person’s pension at £221.20 per week the cost of housing (for 2024) is out of reach for some people.

It's Really Happening!!
Looe Community Land Trust is supporting this project by providing local contacts, knowledge and time, and ensuring that much of the work is carried out by local contractors where possible. The tenant selection process will put local people’s needs at the heart of this project.
Our Future plans
Following the completion of the Coastguard Flats through your membership support, donations and grant funding we aim to purchase further properties and/or land, which will provide additional affordable housing and provide some local employment to support this and future projects for the people of Looe. We also plan to engage with local property and land owners with the aim of increasing long-term rental accommodation for local people.
